Food Forestry Apprenticeship

Food Forestry Apprenticeship at Tierra Sagrada – Coming 2026 The Food Forestry Apprenticeship is a hands-on learning experience focused on the design, installation, and long-term care of regenerative landscapes. Over the course of the season, apprentices will work side by side with experienced land stewards and educators to co-create a community food forest that will serve as a public park and educational gathering space in our town.

Apprentices will gain skills in perennial food production, soil building, native and medicinal plant identification, riparian restoration, community-based design, and sustainable landscaping techniques. The food forest will feature edible trees, shrubs, vines, and groundcovers integrated with walking paths, seating areas, and interpretive signage—designed to nourish both people and pollinators for generations to come.

This program is ideal for aspiring land stewards, educators, youth mentors, and community leaders who want to grow their skills while giving back to the community through meaningful, place-based work.
