Looking to add both storage and character to your home? In this hands-on class, you’ll build your own sturdy wooden bookcase while learning the fundamentals of small furniture construction. You’ll gain experience reading a simple set of plans, measuring and cutting lumber, and safely using a variety of power tools to create a functional piece you can be proud of.
Think of this class not as a fine woodworking course, but as one at the intersection of woodworking and carpentry—focusing on utility and approachability. Unlike traditional woodworking classes that rely on stationary shop equipment, we’ll use accessible handheld tools and straightforward methods that make this project (and similar ones you might want to replicate at home) both achievable and empowering.
